Langshott Manor is a restored 16th century manor house located in a secluded country lane near Horley in Surrey. From the moment you pull into the car park, it's obvious that this is going to be more than 'just a hotel' inside.
With some imagination and photographic artistry, even a simple corridor becomes a fitting location for some stunning bridal portraiture and romantic photographs of the bride and groom.
The building is a beautiful example of a traditional manor house, with oak beams galore, well kept gardens and even a moat!
Atmospheric and intimate civil ceremony
Wedding ceremonies at Langshott have a very cosy feel to them, taking place in an oak beamed room with plenty of atmosphere. For the photographer, an initmate knowledge of working with low ambient light is essential if you're to keep this atmosphere in your wedding photos: a steady hand or tripod coupled to a top quality camera will help, and avoids spoiling the atmosphere with flash. Handled properly, this will get you some beautiful natural photographs to treasure forever.

Whenever I visit a venue, I love to look around soak up the atmosphere and then really try to use the location to get the very best wedding photographs I can. With a location like Langshott Manor this means taking full advantage of the beautiful rustic charm of the building, and exploiting all the nooks and crannies and various lighting options available!
In addition to the 'normal' wedding photos we'll take during the day, a venue like Langshott invites beautiful romantic photos of the bride and groom that are just chock-full of atmosphere. For example, on this page you'll see some great use of video light to enhance a series of already powerful and moody pictures - actually taken in a busy corridor right before the wedding breakfast!
